CliniScribe Launches Telehealth Mode for More Accurate AI Clinical Notes
CliniScribe has launched Telehealth Mode, a new feature designed to improve AI-generated clinical notes during online allied health consultations.
One of the main challenges with using an AI scribe during telehealth is capturing both sides of the conversation when the clinician is wearing headphones. A computer microphone may record the clinician clearly but fail to capture the patient’s audio coming through the headphones.
CliniScribe Telehealth Mode solves this by recording:

The patient’s voice through the shared telehealth browser tab
This allows both sides of the consultation to be transcribed and converted into structured clinical documentation.
What Is CliniScribe Telehealth Mode?
Telehealth Mode is a browser-based recording option within CliniScribe.
When enabled, clinicians select the browser tab containing their telehealth consultation and allow Chrome to share the tab’s audio. CliniScribe can then capture the clinician through their microphone and the patient through the browser tab.

Google Meet
Zoom in a web browser
Other browser-based telehealth platforms
Why Is Telehealth Audio Difficult to Capture?
When clinicians use headphones during a telehealth consultation, the patient’s voice is played directly through the headphones rather than through the computer speakers.
A standard microphone-only AI scribe may therefore capture the clinician but not the patient.
Telehealth Mode addresses this limitation by combining microphone audio with audio from the selected browser tab. This helps CliniScribe produce a more complete transcript and more accurate clinical notes.
Requirements
Before using Telehealth Mode, make sure:
You are using Google Chrome
Your telehealth consultation is running in a browser tab
You have opened CliniScribe in a separate Chrome tab
Safari is not currently supported.
For Zoom consultations, clinicians must join through the Zoom website in Google Chrome rather than using the Zoom desktop application.
How to Use Telehealth Mode in CliniScribe
Open your telehealth consultation in one Google Chrome tab.
Open CliniScribe in another tab.
Start a new CliniScribe session.
Select the Telehealth button beside the session timer.
Confirm that the Telehealth button has turned blue.
Select the Microphone button to begin recording.
When prompted by Chrome, choose the browser tab containing the consultation.
Make sure Share tab audio is selected.
Click Share.
CliniScribe will then record your voice through your microphone and your patient’s voice through the shared browser tab.
When the consultation is finished, stop the recording as usual and generate your clinical documentation.
What Happens If Tab Sharing Stops?
If the shared browser tab is closed or tab sharing is stopped during the consultation, CliniScribe will automatically return to microphone-only recording.
This allows the session to continue without interruption, although the patient’s browser audio may no longer be captured.
